Movers #1

It's time for the first shipment to go. I put all our stuff that needs to go in the first shipment in one designated area so that the movers will touch nothing else and it will go very quickly.

Passports & visa's

We got our passport stuff sent off. Now the wait begins.

We've also set up our first shipment of household goods.

Turned in our notice to housing....

And Dan still doesn't return from school until Jan 14th.

Woah! WHAT?

So today, I decided to randomly log in to AKO and take a peek in ask. And what pops up today! Man, what luck I have!!!

We are on ORDERS! To Vicenza italy... reporting in 6 weeks. WHOA! Hold up! What ever happened to may?

Let the stress really begin!

Dan's still at school.... and I have to get this all ready! In 6 weeks.

Denied

So come to find out our EFMP was denied for Livorno. So, we can't go because of Kaiden's speech therapy.

Since my husband is off at DINFO's for his new schooling, I have this all on my shoulders.

I've been making A LOT of phone calls. From station commander in Livorno, to military one source, a Major in KY, to a woman at the pentagon.

After many calls they told us that we will infact go to either Italy or Belgium. But not until May(ish) now.

I'm okay with that. Gives us more time to get ready to go. So I can stress less.

What am I doing?

What am I supposed to be doing?

I've done the schooling research, housing, travel tips, and much more.

We are not even due to report until Feb 10th, 2011.

Researching

Researching a place I have no idea about is just overwhelming.

Almost 10 years being a military wife, we've honestly never "PCS'ed". We did our intitial move to NC from NY when Dan got stationed there with the Marines. We stayed in Cherry Point the entire time.

When he got out of the Marines and went into the Army we just moved (like we did the first time) there was no pcs, really involved.

We've been in NY his entire Army career thus far.

So here we go with our very first PCS and to another country for that matter.

So much to think about... kids, pets, housing, kids, food, car, kids, husband, myself, kids, housing, hotels, money, kids, etc.

But we CAN do this! We have no choice. LOL

On orders

Well we found out today that we are on orders to Livorno, Italy!

Shocking!

We happened to log into AKO and look under ASK (very random) to see that infact we came down on orders.... and they were just dated today! What luck we have.

Let the research begin!
